Capturing Action Sports as a Quadriplegic Photographer

Loren Worthington is a photographer with a unique perspective, both literally and figuratively. A spinal cord injury cost Worthington the use of three of his limbs and with that, his participation in sports. Almost two decades later, he reconnected with his passion for athletics, but this time from behind a photographer’s lens. Though confined to a wheelchair, Worthington has distinguished himself with his photographs of para-athletes in the United States and at the Rio 2016 Paralympics. Calling Turns in the High-Stakes World of Rally Racing

In the high-speed world of rally car racing, you’re only as good as your co-driver. As these racers speed around hairpin turns on unpaved, narrow roads, drivers must rely on the shorthand calls of their co-pilots to stay on course. To the uninitiated, these calls can sound like gibberish. But for father-daughter rally team Steve and Alison Laroza, this language has developed into an almost telepathic understanding that has kept them safe and confident on the course. Buckle up!
